I am full professor for numerical methods for PDEs at the Institute of Mathematics of TU Berlin.

My research is in numerical analysis, more specifically in developing numerical methods for solving partial differential equations (PDEs). I am focusing on developing finite volume and discontinuous Galerkin methods for solving hyperbolic (systems of) conservation laws. I am specifically interested in developing schemes that are stable on cut cell meshes as well as in combining hyperbolic problems with optimal control, and more recently in two phase flow problems.
